The property and commercial context
Nala Veli is an island property on Ukulhas, in the Alif Alif Atoll. Our founder helps run it as its business director: the operation grew from six rooms to thirty-two rooms, with a spa, a restaurant and an excursion programme. That growth is business history — rate decisions, service, seasons of work — and we say clearly below what the website did and did not contribute to it.
The website problem
A property of this shape outgrows a template fast. Two accommodation experiences — Nala Veli Beach & Spa and Nala Veli Villa — had to live under one identity without blurring into each other. Dining, spa, excursions and offers each needed a real home, not a paragraph on a long homepage. And a significant share of guests plan in Italian, so a single-language site would greet many of them in the wrong language.
The bilingual content challenge
Bilingual here does not mean machine-translating an English page. The Italian edition carries the same information architecture as the English site — navigation, page structure and metadata included — so an Italian guest can research rooms, dining and excursions end to end without falling back to English mid-journey.

- Mobile-first enquiry and booking calls to action
- Structured content for search across both languages
Direct booking and the Cloudbeds connection
The booking journey ends in the property's own Cloudbeds booking engine — live rates and availability come from the property's system, not from a copy pasted into the website. Enquiry paths stay one tap away for guests who prefer to talk before they book, because that is how island bookings actually close.
A website connected to the commercial operation
Nala Veli's website was not built as a standalone brochure. Its direct-booking journey was designed alongside a structured 2026 rate architecture covering seasonality, room types, occupancy, direct rates and OTA distribution — an operator-designed rate and distribution architecture, not an afterthought to the design.
That approved rate structure was configured through Cloudbeds for OTA distribution, with Booking.com promotions, cancellation policies and extranet settings aligned to the property's commercial strategy. The website, booking engine and OTA channels work from one deliberate operating model rather than separate, conflicting price decisions.
Designing the website was one part of the work. The other was making sure the direct-booking channel, Cloudbeds rate structure and OTA configuration made commercial sense together.
Mobile and search structure
Most guests arrive on a phone, mid-plan. The site is built mobile-first, with enquiry and booking actions visible without hunting, and content structured in clear, self-contained sections so both languages read well to people — and parse well for search.
What we can and can't claim
We can show you the live site in both languages and the structure behind it. We don't claim the website caused the 6→32 room growth, a specific booking result or a revenue figure — running a property well takes far more than a website, and we publish outcome numbers only when we have measured evidence. What we claim is the work itself: a fully custom bilingual hospitality website, connected to the property's real booking engine and its real commercial model.
